CivilPlan is proud to announce the promotion of Matt Richards to CBD Engineering Manager.
CivilPlan is proud to announce the promotion of Matt Richards to CBD Engineering Manager, marking an exciting milestone for both Matt and the company as it expands its presence in Auckland’s Central Business District.
Matt has been a key part of the CivilPlan team for the past eight years, and his promotion reflects his dedication, expertise, and leadership in the engineering sector. Stepping into this new role, Matt is excited about the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of the company while continuing to work closely with clients and project teams. "This is a big moment for me," says Matt. "I’ve been with CivilPlan for eight years now, and it’s awesome to keep growing within a company I love without needing to look elsewhere for new challenges. Stepping into a role with more responsibility is exciting, and I’m really looking forward to being more involved in leadership. The business development side of things is especially interesting to me, and I can’t wait to contribute more strategically. This feels like the right next step in my career, and I’m stoked to be doing it here."

A StrategicStep Forward for CivilPlan

The appointment of a CBD Engineering Manager aligns with CivilPlan’s broader growth strategy. With a well-established base inManukau for the past 10 years, the move into Auckland’s CBD marks a new chapter, allowing the company to better connect with clients, strengthen industry relationships, and tap into a wider talent pool.

"Opening our Auckland CBD office, along with my new role, is a huge step forward for CivilPlan," Matt explains. "Expanding into the CBD gives us a stronger presence in a key business hub. It puts us in a better position to connect with more clients and tap into a wider talent pool. Being in the heart of Auckland also boosts our visibility and opens up new networking opportunities, which could lead to some exciting collaborations. All in all, it’s a smart move that sets us up for future growth."

EnhancingClient Service and Responsiveness

For CivilPlan’s clients, this move ensures an even higher level of service and responsiveness. Having an Engineering Manager based in the CBD means quicker site visits, more face-to-face interactions, and stronger project oversight.

"For our current clients, nothing changes—they’ll still get the same service and communication from me as always. But for those in the CBD, having a dedicated Engineering Manager based there will make a real difference. I’ll be able to meet up more easily, visit sites faster, and have more face-to-face time, which helps build stronger relationships and keeps projects running smoothly. Being closer to the action means we can be more responsive, which is a win for everyone," says Matt.

CivilPlan is excited about this next phase of growth and looks forward to the opportunities that come with an expanded presence in Auckland’s CBD.
