CivilPlan has appointed Natasha Rivai as the organisation’s Associate Director of Planning. This appointment comes a year after CivilPlan acquired Haines Planning in order to diversify their capabilities and expand their resources.
Natasha brings over 17 years of experience in the planning industry, having worked on projects throughout New Zealand for private developers, as well as for central and local government sector clients.
Natasha will be responsible for overseeing the planning team and identifying new business and growth opportunities. Over the next 12 months, she will also be working closely with CivilPlan’s current Planning Director, David Haines, on completing the transition of Haines Planning to CivilPlan.
“Natasha’s vast project experience and proven ability to lead and manage planning teams will be invaluable as we look to expand CivilPlan’s capabilities,” says David. “Her passion for problem-solving and working collaboratively with other specialists aligns perfectly with our company values of being straight up, raising the bar, and stronger together.”
Prior to joining CivilPlan, Natasha held senior planning roles in other private consultancies. Among her recent accomplishments, she supported KiwiRail with consent acquisition and stakeholder engagement, including facilitating community workshops and hui with local iwi and other key stakeholders for three new Drury Rail stations between Papakura and Pukekohe.
“I am thrilled to join the team at CivilPlan,” says Natasha. “In this transitional role over the next year, I look forward to working alongside David, growing the planning team’s capabilities, and elevating CivilPlan’s profile.”
Over the next couple of years, Natasha aims to build a stronger, more resilient planning team and diversify CivilPlan’s business by leveraging her extensive connections across New Zealand.
